Hi! I'm a writer of children's fiction living in New Zealand, slowly and simultaneously navigating the treacherous waters of publishing and child-rearing, the waters of which are full of sharks and other fear inducing creatures. Everyday i work hard to procrastinate and avoid writing on my latest project because despite what some people who've never tried it think, writing for children is HARD. As often as I can manage, when i'm not skipping up to the post box to gather rejection letters or checking my e-mail inbox for the millionth time I will post something I hope might be of interest to some accidental visitor to this blog.
I am twice as impatient as the most impatient person you know. I worry a lot for an optimist and wish chocolate wasn't fattening. I have three starry children, a fab husband, a shy pretty cat and a cute small dog.

No no no!!! I am the most impatient person in the world. You and I live on the same plane...at the e-mail and gnashing teeth at the slowness of the publishing industry. The imortal words 'Publish or Die' have me wonder if the latter will come alot sooner.
No sorry - i win the impatience race hands down. It is a cruel, cruel joke that i have ended up in the slowest industry in the world (except for research into snail speed). And there is a special prize for the inaugeral commenter - boy if i was real smart i would have been my own first commenter?! dang!

It's silly that I don't know you. My name's Sarah Anderson, and I illustrated your Were-Nana book. I just wanted to say I absolutely loved illustrating it! Such a fun story - scary and full of great emotion. Thanks for writing it :) I can't wait to see it in stores in September. Anyway, thought I should just drop you a line. It seems kind of unnatural that we should make this book together without ever even talking! Hope your current writing projects are going well.I'll be keeping an eye out for them in the future.
